A rare and characterful 1970s Victa-built mixte for Europa Cycles, restored from three Australian donor bicycles and updated for practical everyday riding.
This bicycle brings together a unique cross-section of local cycling history. The original mixte frame, built by Victa for Europa Cycles, has been thoughtfully restored using components from three donor bicycles: a Mitchell produced by the Royal Blind Society workshop in Enfield, a Gemini Bolero, and a Speedwell ladies’ sport.
The result is a cohesive and highly usable bicycle that retains its heritage while benefiting from carefully considered modern upgrades.

Why this bicycle is priced as it is
This is not a second-hand bicycle. It is a fully restored and thoughtfully assembled build completed in our Rozelle workshop.
The bicycle brings together a 1970s Australian-made mixte frame built by Victa, combined with components sourced from three period donor bicycles. Each part has been selected, serviced, and integrated to create a cohesive and reliable everyday bicycle.
Unlike original or untouched vintage bicycles, this build has been set up for practical use. It includes modern tyres for availability and ride quality, integrated lighting for visibility, and a modular carrying system for everyday utility.
Restoration work of this kind is time-intensive and requires complete disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and careful reassembly. The result is a one-off bicycle that rides as intended, rather than a project or display piece.
This is a ready-to-ride, workshop-built bicycle with provenance, not a marketplace find.
This build offers a practical and considered way into a restored vintage bicycle, without the uncertainty of undertaking the work yourself.
