Introducing the Apollo II Classic Racing Bicycle

Discover the elegance and performance of this beautiful wine-red classic racing bicycle, originally made in Japan for international export and meticulously restored to its former glory.

About the Apollo II

Acquired from a prominent bicycle recycling company, the Apollo II arrived in a neglected state with unusable wheels and a badly mangled rear derailleur. Undeterred by its condition, we embarked on a dedicated restoration journey spanning several weeks and months.

Key Features

  • Tastefully Restored and Roadworthy: The Apollo II has been restored to impeccable condition, ensuring it is 100% roadworthy and ready for your next adventure.

  • Classic Design: Features drop bars by Nitto (38cm) for a comfortable and aerodynamic riding position.

  • High-Quality Components:

    • Wheels: Aluminium 630mm wheels with 36h spokes.
    • Rear Hub: Screw-on cluster 126 OLD nutted.
    • Front Hub: 92mm nutted.
    • Tyres: 27 x 1” Panaracer gum-wall tyres for smooth rolling and classic aesthetics.
    • Brake System: Diacompe single-pull brake levers with Koolstop salmon pads for reliable braking performance.
    • Bar Tape: Brooks England for comfort and style.
    • Saddle: Reupholstered leather saddle for a luxurious riding experience.
    • Pedals: Steel chrome pedals for durability and grip.
    • Drivetrain: Shimano Altus friction shifters, front derailleur, and rear derailleur ensure smooth gear changes.
    • Chainset: Sugino double chainring (52-40T) with 175 mm cranks.
    • Chain and Cassette: 5-speed KMC chain paired with a 5-speed Sunrace cassette.

Timeless Performance

The Apollo II exemplifies the classic 5 x 2 (10-speed) racer popular during the bicycle boom of the 1970s, offering nimble handling and mechanical excellence.
